Welcome to Silkie Co, a small business located in Fairbanks, Alaska.  Silkie Co was started after a local search for employment for an individual (Nicole Rizer) with Down Syndrome was not successful.  Nicole wanted to work with horses, specifically cleaning out horse stalls.  When horse related employment opportunities were not located, Nicole still wanted a job.  It was decided that she may be able to "work" within her other interest areas, Silkie Chickens and Handmade Art / Crafts.  From there, her 11 year old nephew, Tayton, helped the idea to evolve, developed a website,  and Silkie Co was created!
